A long-conducted study from Harvard University revealed that following five simple habits can help a person live more than a decade or more. While conducting the study, the researchers studied 34 years of data from 78,000 women and 27 years worth from more than 44,000 men. The study highlighted a link between healthy behaviours and cardiovascular diseases. Women and men who followed the healthiest lifestyles were 82 per cent less likely to die of heart disease and 65 per cent less likely to die from cancer when compared to the ones who were least likely to follow the healthiest lifestyles. This was found in the study which was done over 30 years.

Exercise regularly: The study by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) noted that doing small exercises every day can extend life expectancy by nearly 4.5 years. Among all these, the main idea is to avoid doing any inactivity like desk jobs.
Maintain a healthy weight: The Harvard Study noted that maintaining a healthy weight helps to deal with diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and breast cancer. A healthy body mass index or BMI should be between 18.5 and 24.9.
