Happiness: The feeling of inner joy and satisfaction
Happiness is something which we can’t describe in words; it can only be felt from someone’s expression of a smile. Likewise, it is a signal or identification of good and prosperous life. Happiness is very simple to feel and difficult to describe. Moreover, happiness comes from within and no one can steal our happiness. The feeling of happiness is a wonderful experience, emotionally and mentally, and it makes sense that we’d want to create more of that in our lives. Happiness is something that only we can bring for ourselves. If we choose to be happy and channelize for thoughts accordingly, then we shall attain happiness. Happiness is very essential in life. If we lead a happy life, we will live for many years. Happiness is that elusive thing we are all striving for and hoping to find. Everyone seeks to be happy and live a more fulfilling life. Happiness is mostly an attitude, a feeling of satisfaction with ourselves and our place in the world. We should avoid stress and depression so that we can lead a happy life.
The International Day of Happiness is an annual celebration aimed at helping people around the world to realize the importance of happiness in their lives. It’s a chance for everyone to take steps to make themselves and others happier, to reflect on what makes them happy, and explore new ways to be happy. It takes place every year on the 20th of March. The International Day of Happiness represents a shift in global attitudes towards wellbeing and the recognition of happiness as a human right. It was established by the United Nations in 2011, and the first-ever International Day of Happiness took place in 2012.
Being happy make us feel better and it improves our health. It helps us eat healthier, be more active and sleep better. Because happiness leads to healthier behaviors, it helps stave off high blood pressure and excess body fat, resulting in lower risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease. Every day we see and meet people who look happy from the outside but deep down they are broken and are sad from the inside. For many people, money is the main cause of happiness or grief. But this is not right. Money can buy you food, luxurious house, healthy lifestyle servants, and many more facilities but money can’t buy you happiness. And if money can buy happiness then the rich would be the happiest person on the earth. But, we see a contrary image of the rich suffering from various problems. People nowadays are not satisfied with their relationship because of their differences and much other reason. We can say that happiness can only be achieved by having positive thinking and enjoying life. Also, for being happy and keeping the people around us happy we have to develop a healthy relationship with them. Additionally, we also have to give them the proper time.
Happiness is essential for leading a good life but unfortunately it is missing from the lives of most people these days. Different people have different ideas of happiness. Some believe that it can be found in money, others feel happy and content when they are in a good relationship yet others feel elated when they are doing well professionally. While we need to look for happiness inside at times we need to seek help from our family and friends. Many people these days suffer from depression because they choose to deal with their problems on their own and not to involve others. It is important to look within to find true happiness but it is equally important to surround yourself with positive people.
Besides feeling good, positive emotions do good things for our brains and bodies. They lower stress hormones, help ease anxiety and depression, and improve our immune system. Feeling some positive emotions every day has a big effect on our happiness and well-being. The importance of happiness in life cannot be negated by any means. It is a feeling we experience when we are full of joy. We feel happy and content when we accomplish something in life, get something new like a car, or house, a job, an admission, etc., visit a new place with loved ones, have quality family time, or get praise for our deeds. But, in the case of kids, they find happiness in trivial things, which for them mean a lot. For instance, playing hide and seek, ludo with parents, visiting a park with grandparents, their favourite dish for dinner, an outing with family, bedtime story, a warm embrace, etc.
Happiness is the reason to lead a fulfilling life. It is a state of mind that everyone should maintain and strive for. When we have a happy nature, we emit a positive vibe that attracts many optimistic people around us. Scientifically, a happy person leads a healthy life. Happiness keeps our heart health in check, our immune system stronger, and helps us fight negativity easily. Happiness increases our motivation to do things better and take on new challenges head-on in life. Happiness is contagious; if we are happy, we can keep our loved ones happy too. Happiness combats stress, combats disease and disability and lengthens our lives. It lowers our blood pressure, enables better sleep, improves our diet, allows us to maintain a normal body weight through regular exercise and reduces stress. Happiness is the most basic thing that can be achieved with minimal effort. The key is discovering your inner satisfaction and joy, which can be done naturally. Finding what makes you happy is essential. It can be anything, studies, singing, dancing, etc. Drawing, giving food to the needy, and dancing makes me feel happy.
Happiness is the most inexpensive virtue of life and can be explored in many ways. Our hobbies, likings and day-to-day activities can make us happy. Helping others and sharing can attract happiness in our life. We need to keep doing what is beneficial for our happiness and others around us to make it last longer. Happiness is a major key to a person’s overall well-being and self-confidence in their everyday life. In order to maintain happiness, most people have daily routines and or hobbies that they do on a regular basis that brings them joy and happiness. Without happiness the important activities that people take part in could be missing its full potential due to lack of happiness and self-esteem. Happiness and success are preceded by gratitude. We need to happily succeed rather than try to succeed to be happy. Success should not breed happiness. Happiness should bread success. Once we’re happy, and we’re doing something we love in life, success becomes a byproduct. However, when our happiness hinges on our success, good things never come. Happy people still feel the whole range of human emotions—anger, frustration, boredom, loneliness, and even sadness—from time to time. But even when faced with discomfort, they have an underlying sense of optimism that things will get better, that they can deal with what is happening, and that they will be able to feel happy again.
While perceptions of happiness may be different from one person to the next, there are some key signs that look when assessing happiness of a person. The same include: Feeling like we are living the life we wanted, Going with the flow and a willingness to take life as it comes, Feeling that the conditions of our life is good, Enjoying positive and healthy relationships with other people, Feeling that we have accomplished (or will accomplish) what we want in life, Feeling satisfied with our life, Feeling positive more than negative, Being open to new ideas and experiences, Practicing self-care and treating ourselves with kindness and compassion, Experiencing gratitude, Feeling that we are living life with a sense of meaning and purpose, and sharing our happiness and joy with others;
“Happiness is the meaning and purpose of life, the whole aim and the end of human existence” – Aristotle
